With technology swiftly shifting towards artificial intelligence, Chat GPT has changed the game of available content, information and everything which only Google was capable of doing. Chat GPT has created an era of the internet and artificial intelligence doing every task.

Microsoft and Open AI are all set to release a major update for the Large Language Model (LLM) powering Bing AI and Chat GPT.

Generative Pre-Trained Transformer (GPT) is the language model powering Open AI's Chat GPT and Microsoft's Chat GPT-infused Bing AI.

While Chat GPT has only been able to respond to users' questions in text form so far, the company's upcoming language model may be able to produce AI-powered films and other sorts of video content.

Microsoft Germany's Chief Technical Officer (CTO), Andreas Braun, stated to the German news website Heise, "We will introduce GPT-4 next week... We will have multimodal models that provide entirely new possibilities for example, videos".

But What really is GPT?

A Generative Pre-Trained Transformer (GPT) is a sophisticated neural network architecture used to train large language models (LLMs). It makes use of large amounts of publicly available Internet text to simulate human communication.

A GPT language model can be used to provide artificial intelligence solutions that handle complex communication tasks. Thanks to GPT-based LLMs, computers can handle operations like text summarization, machine translation, classification, and code generation. GPT also allows the creation of conversational AI, capable of answering questions and providing valuable insights on the information to the models that have been exposed. It is only a text model.
 

What is Chat GPT 4?

The most recent version of GPT created by Open AI will be GPT-4. Like all other GPTs, GPT-4 is being trained on a vast amount of data and will be able to produce text that resembles human speech for a variety of jobs. It should be able to create blog posts, reports, and news pieces, all of which are of a high calibre.

GPT-4 is still formally under development. Although there is no set timetable for release, there is widespread conjecture that it will happen soon and be accessible by the middle of 2023. GPT-4 is a huge leap forward in the field of natural language processing technology. It has the potential to become an invaluable tool for anyone who needs to generate text.

How is Chat GPT 3 different from Chat GPT 4 ?

The Economic Agenda to achieve this focuses on 3 things: (a) Facilitating ample opportunities for citizens, especially the youth, to fulfil their aspirations; (b) Providing strong impetus to growth and job creation; (c) Strengthening macroeconomic stability.

Key Highlights:

1. For Startups

Tax Holiday Date Revision

Startups in India enjoy a “tax holiday”, where they don’t pay taxes for the first 3 years of incorporation. Until now, any startup incorporated before 31st March 2023 could avail of this tax holiday benefit.

Implication: The Budget 2023 extended this date by one year, meaning a startup incorporated before 31st March 2024 can also enjoy the benefits of a tax holiday!

Carry Forward & Set Off Losses: Until now, startups were allowed to carry forward and set off losses if such a loss has been incurred for 7 years since incorporation. The new Budget has extended it to 10 years since incorporation.

Implication: Startups can “carry forward and set off losses”, meaning losses from any source can be set off against profit from another source and can be carried forward to future financial years.

Loss can be adjusted against taxable income, bringing the final payable tax amount lower and offering relief to the business.

2. The IT industry

Data Accessibility: In a bid to help bring innovation to the IT sector at a much faster pace, the Budget 2023 emphasised the power of data accessibility.

Budget 2023 introduced the National Data Governance Policy, which will create a large repository of Indian datasets.

This data could be from the government or private entities and will be made accessible to the research and startup ecosystem to enable innovation.

The National Data Governance Policy also focuses on promoting transparency, accountability, and ownership in non-personal data and dataset access.

3. For all Businesses

COVID-19 Relief

In Budget 2023, MSMEs that were not able to execute contracts during COVID will get a 95% return of the forfeited amount related to bid or security by government and government undertakings.

This will provide relief to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises that were affected by the pandemic.

Credit Guarantee Scheme Revamp

The credit guarantee scheme is also being revamped – this scheme was introduced to provide collateral-free loans to MSMEs.

The revamped scheme will enable collateral-free guaranteed credit of up to Rs 2 lakh crore and will reduce the cost of credit to about 1%.

4. Agriculture of the country

The Budget 2023 also focused heavily on the importance of implementing technology into agriculture.

The agri-tech industry and startups surrounding it will be supported with new digital public infrastructure.

This will enable “inclusive, farmer-centric solutions for crop planning, credit, insurance, crop estimation, and market intelligence.”

An agriculture accelerator fund is also going to be set up for agri-startups in rural areas.

5. For Digital India

This new Budget introduced a Digilocker for MSMEs and big businesses, called the Entity Digilocker – a service enjoyed only by retail customers until now.

The Budget also included continued support for digital payments and digital public infrastructure. It was pointed out that digital payment transactions increased by 76% in 2022.

6. Taxation

Presumptive Taxation

With the Budget 2023, MSMEs with a turnover of up to Rs 3 crore and professionals with a turnover of up to Rs 75 lakh – with cash receipts of no more than 5% can avail of the “presumptive taxation” benefit.

Presumptive taxation is when a taxpayer is exempt from maintaining books of accounts. This offers relief to small taxpayers who find it difficult to maintain books of accounts.

Another change made was to TDS: the TDS rate on the taxable part of withdrawals made from EPF was 30% but has been cut to 20%.

The minimum threshold for TDS which was Rs 10,000 has been removed

7. Income Tax

The biggest news of the Budget 2023 was the change to the income tax rebate limit.

Previously, people who earned less than Rs 5 lakhs were exempt from paying taxes. Now, that limit has been increased to Rs 7 lakhs.

The new tax regime has now been made the default option when filing tax returns.

The Indian business tycoon and a multi-billionaire, Mukesh Ambani has announced a $25bn (£21.3bn) plan to launch 5G mobile internet services in the country within two months.

Mr Ambani, who heads the telecoms-to-retail group Reliance Industries, says the high-speed network will be introduced first in major cities, including New Delhi and Mumbai. He claims the rest of India will be able to access high-speed internet by December 2023.

Mr Ambani also claimed that, "The company is also working with Google to develop a budget 5G smartphone". Mr Ambani also said that Reliance was working with US technology giant Google to develop an "ultra-affordable" 5G smartphone, without giving further details on its price or planned launch date.

Speaking on Monday at Reliance's annual general meeting, Mr Ambani said that once the firm's 5G network is fully operational it would be the biggest in the world.

The service will be rolled out through Reliance's subsidiary Jio - which is India's largest mobile carrier.

The announcements came as the battle for domination in India’s digital future is heating up.

Earlier this month, the Indian government concluded a record $19bn auction for airwaves, including 5G airwaves, where Jio emerged as the top buyer. It also drew bids from other major players Vodafone Idea and Bharti Airtel – and a fourth new entrant, Adani Data Networks.

The fifth generation of high-speed mobile internet – or 5G – supports emerging technologies such as driverless cars and artificial intelligence. It is seen to be central to India's plans to transform the country into a $1tn digital economy.

In May, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that 5G would "not only accelerate internet speed but also boost development and employment." The 65-year-old confirmed that his daughter Isha would head Reliance's retail ventures, while his youngest son Anant would join its new energy business. His eldest son Akash was appointed as the chairman of Jio in June this year.

With an estimated net worth of $91.9bn, Mr Ambani is the eleventh richest person in the world and the second richest person in Asia, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
